Casino Hotels in the Caribbean

1. Renaissance Santo Domingo Jaragua Hotel & Casino
Situated in the bustling Malecon, the Marriott-affiliated Renaissance Santo Domingo Jaragua Hotel & Casino offers a convenient location for travelers looking to explore Santo Domingo’s contemporary neighborhood. Visitors appreciate the updated decor and say the hotel makes for a comfortable stay. Rooms feature plush bedding, Aveda toiletries and, in select accommodations, views of the Caribbean Sea. But with all of the other amenities, you may not need to spend much time in your digs. Travelers say the pool is large, well-maintained and right across the street from the ocean. For a little more pampering, head to the spa. Or, if you’re tempted to test Lady Luck, check out the on-site casino. After you work up an appetite, grab a bite at one of the hotel’s two restaurants, Luna Bar & Restaurant and Sol Pool Lounge & Restaurant. The property also features a coffee shop with homemade gelato for those with sweet tooths. Recent guests’ only complaint was the occasionally lackluster customer service. However, if you’re a Marriott Bonvoy member, you can earn or use points here.

2. Royalton Punta Cana, An Autograph All-Inclusive Resort & Casino
Surrounded by swaying palm trees and sugary sands, the all-inclusive Royalton Punta Cana Resort & Casino in the Bávaro resort area of Punta Cana beckons to R&R-seekers. Guest rooms and suites feature rain showers, coffee makers, satellite TVs, stocked minibars and balconies or terraces. And according to previous guests, the accommodations are clean and comfortable (albeit small and dated), though many recommend splurging for a Diamond Club room or suite. Each comes with extras like butler service, a pillow menu and access to a lounge with daily breakfast and evening hors d’oeuvres. The property’s six restaurants, which plate everything from Japanese teppanyaki-style dishes to Italian-inspired fare, are another hit among travelers. And with three pools (not including one for Diamond Club guests), a fitness center, a casino and a water park, there’s plenty to satisfy all entertainment needs. Speaking of entertainment, younger guests can stay busy at the two kids and the teen clubs, which have Ping-Pong tables and PlayStation games. The all-inclusive rates cover all activities and entertainment, plus meals and nonmotorized water sports equipment rentals.
