The city of Istanbul has been the capital of two major empires, the Byzantine Empire and the Ottoman Empire. Both civilizations were powerful during their reign and as such their influences have seeped into the city creating a cultural amalgamation unique to the city. It is truly one of the few places in the world that represents a true living representation of harmony and tolerance with churches and mosques co-existing together in the city. When visiting the city, make sure to visit the Blue Mosque of Istanbul one of the oldest and still active places of worship in the world. For cat lovers, the city is also known for its love of cats, with thousands of cats roaming the city of Istanbul for centuries keeping it rodent-free.

 




 

2.Jerusalem, Israel
Considered the holiest city in the world, it is an important religious site for three major religions of the world – Jews, Christians, and Muslims. It is home to the Western Wall, the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher.
