Overlooking Piscaderabaai near Willemstad, Curacao, this Hilton property offers a relaxed atmosphere. Recent visitors loved the friendly staff, two pristine (albeit small) beaches and tasty cuisine dished up at the property’s four eateries. However, most were disappointed with their accommodations’ worn appearances. All guest rooms feature traditional tropical decor with signature Hilton Serenity beds and amenities like minifridges, coffee makers, complimentary Wi-Fi access and LCD flat-screen TVs. Suites and Executive Rooms also boast access to an exclusive lounge with free daily breakfast, hors d’oeuvres and drinks. Outside the accommodations, travelers will find everything from a dive center to a casino to a spa. Since the Hilton Curacao falls under the Hilton banner, guests can earn or redeem Hilton Honors points while staying here.
2. Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana – All Inclusive
Overall, previous guests enjoyed their stays at the Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana – All Inclusive (formally the Now Larimar Punta Cana). Accommodations at this Bavaro Beach resort are dressed in tropical decor (think: rattan furniture and palm leaf wall accents) and appointed with private terraces or balconies, stocked minibars and Gilchrist & Soames bath products, plus access to a wide array of facilities. You will find traditional resort features here, including several pools and kids and teens clubs, three pools and a fitness center. After a busy day, dine at one of seven on-site restaurants, which serve Italian, French, Asian and Mexican cuisines, among other options. Those ages 18 and older can also sip cocktails at the nightclub at next-door Secrets Royal Beach or various watering holes. Some past visitors were disappointed with the resort’s restaurants, noting that their dishes were not on par with those served at other AM Resorts eateries. However, the brand’s Sip, Savor & See program allows guests to dine for free at other Dominican Republic AM Resorts properties, including the Secrets Royal Beach next door.
