7. Excellence Riviera Cancun
Sandwiched between the Dreams Riviera Cancun Resort & Spa and the Now Sapphire Riviera Cancun, this Excellence resort faces steep competition. But recent visitors say the adults-only resort rises to the challenge, providing superior customer service and a variety of premium amenities. What’s more, you can take advantage of the Excellence Riviera Cancun’s offerings without paying more than your nightly room rate. Recent visitors praise the resort’s suites, which come appointed with extras like whirlpool bathtubs, flat-screen TVs, free wireless Internet and private balconies or patios. But you likely won’t be spending much time indoors: The Excellence Riviera Cancun invites you to take advantage of its six pools – one of which is handicapped-accessible – and powdery sands. The resort also features tennis and volleyball courts, and for those in need of a little extra R&R, the Miilé Spa provides a variety of soothing treatments (at an extra cost). You can also enjoy meals at 11 restaurants and drinks at 10 bars and lounges. You’ll find this resort in Puerto Morelos, about 23 miles south of Cancun.
